Sending heartfelt congratulations to three of our former fellows:

Nora Kassner and Tiana Wilson have received dissertation awards from the Organization of American Historians.

Nora Kassner (CES fellow 2022-23) received the 2024 John D’Emilio LGBTQ History Dissertation Award, which recognizes the best PhD dissertation in U.S. LBGTQ history. Nora recently accepted a position as a career-track Lecturer in the Program in Writing and Rhetoric at Stanford University.

Tiana Wilson (CES fellow 2021-22) received the 2024 Lerner-Scott Prize for Best Dissertation in US Women’s History. Beginning this fall, Tiana will be an Assistant Professor of Africana Studies at the University of Pittsburgh.

We would also like to send compliments to Silas Grant (CES fellow 2019-20) as they have accepted a postdoctoral position at UC Irvine in the School of Social Ecology/Newkirk Center for Science & Society.

Congratulations all!
